As we have been doing in recent years, ADALIS Industrial Solutions has participated in the sponsorship of the MAN 6×6 truck of the KH7 Epsilon Team in this new edition of the Dakar that takes place in Saudi Arabia. The team this year consists only of Jordi Juvanteny (driver) and José Luís Criado (co-driver), as the third crew member (Jordi Ballbé) tested positive for coronavirus the day before their departure to Arabia.
This edition will therefore be particularly challenging for Jordi Juvanteny and José Luís Criado, but they are drawing on their experience to cover the situation. It is not for nothing that José Luis Criado is the Spaniard with the most participations in the Dakar (31), just one behind the most experienced active driver, Stephan Peterhansel himself (32). The numerical inferiority is giving them more work, but it has not changed the spirit with which the KH7 Epsilon Team faces the race.
Jordi and José Luís continue to put solidarity and help before pure competition. This year they have once again lived up to their nickname of "the Guardian Angels of the Dakar" by rescuing and helping cars, trucks and motorcycles that have suffered traffic jams, overturns, accidents or breakdowns. They have also maintained their solidarity facet, twinning two organizations that work with people with intellectual disabilities, the Barcelona-based Fundació Privada Vallès Oriental and the Saudi Disabled Children's Association with their project "the truck of dreams", taking advantage of the rest day last Saturday.
And in sporting terms they are excelling yet another year, despite being (or perhaps precisely because of this) an edition that is causing headaches for many participants with complex navigation (among others the current car champion Carlos Sainz). At the halfway point of the race, the KH7 Epsilon Team is the leader in the Production (standard trucks) and 6×6 (trucks with three axles and six driving wheels) categories, 17th in the general classification and faces the marathon stage (two consecutive days without any external assistance) full of strength and with high morale.
Undoubtedly, and beyond the sporting results, the KH7 Epsilon Team has already triumphed with its demonstration of help, solidarity and companionship both in the race and outside it in its social projects.
